Virtual Machine (VM)
Technical Definition -An emulation of a computer system that can run an operating system and look and act like an independent machine from the perspective of other machines (such as on a network). A physical computer may have several virtual machines running on it.
Layman’s Definition – A software program that exhibits the behavior of a separate computer, including the capability to run applications and programs.
How we use it – alligatortek engineers sometimes create and deploy virtual machines during the development process to serve as a clean application run-time environment. Solutions deployed in the cloud may provide multiple virtual machines working in parallel to scale to user load.
